Description

A stocking hook that simply sits on the mantel — no screws, no mounting, no holes in the woodwork. The flat base is a 4″ x 4″ plate of 1/4″ thick forged iron that rests on top of the mantel shelf, with the hook dropping over the front edge. The weight of the iron is what holds it in place, so it goes up in seconds and comes down just as easily in January.

That 2 1/2″ hook is heavy enough to hold a loaded Christmas stocking without bending or slipping. And because nothing attaches permanently, it’s the hanger to reach for on a mantel you’d never put a nail into — stone, antique wood, a rental fireplace.

Each one is forged by hand, so the hammer work and edges vary slightly from piece to piece.

Oil Blackened: Satin black with light touches of grey, this finish allows the texture and forge work to come through. Our black oxide process penetrates into the metal, actually changing the color of the iron itself. This results in a deep, rich satin black that adds depth and character to the piece.

Brushed Steel: This finish lies between a nickel/pewter hue with a satin sheen. It goes well with both modern and rustic decor. This is not a high shine, factory gloss kind of look. Some forge scale will be present which gives this finish a slightly antiqued / hand forged quality.

Brass Brushed: This finish is achieved by heating the piece and hand brushing using a solid brass bristle brush. The brass integrates with the steel creating a very durable and amazingly beautiful darkened brass/bronze coloration. The brush strokes are visible, contributing a visual texture to this timeless look.
